Monday Refuel

"My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,  when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy."

(Psalm 63:5-7, ESV)

When the runner is running a marathon, their body is releasing a lot of energy. Resources of all kinds within the runners body are being depleted. When the course is over, the runner must replenish their body of the resources used. It matters what they replenish the body with after the marathon. What they choose to put back into their bodies will determine how they continue as a runner in their training and growth.

Replenishing and satisfying our souls is vital to our spiritual survival in our world today. We have to be very careful and refuel our souls with sustaining energy that will last. The only source that really replenishes our soul to its core, is God. When we spend time with God, our souls grow. The daily practices of; praising God, remembering what he has done for us, and meditating on him and his word at night while resting will sustain us in ways we can't imagine. You can't replenish the runners body with donuts and expect them to keep going. The same way with our spiritual life, we can't survive on junk! Take some time today or tomorrow and meditate on God, pray, and just look at his presence in your life. If you don't feel like God is there, pray anyway, don't give up. Make changes if necessary and make things right with the only true source of replenishment for our souls.

Stay with it...Trent
