Monday Refuel....How Long O Lord??

How Long O Lord?

"How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?

    How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord
because he has dealt bountifully with me."
(Psalm 13:1-6, ESV)

My prayer for you today is for trust and
dependence on God.
The seasons of life take us through many twists and turns. Some we are aware of and others catch us unaware. They are all often uncomfortable to walk through. The duration of our seasonal changes in life are often longer than we would like them to be. It is within this seemingly lengthy period of time that we become weary. Our trust in God is put to the test in ways that push us to our limits.
So, what happens to us when our trust in God is challenged?
We begin to take matters into our own hands and in the process, we make matters worse. When we try to depend or trust in ourselves, we will fail. Sure, it may be temporary, but failure is imminent. We have seen this over and over again in our choices during the rough seasons.
An important practice that will help us learn to keep trusting in God during the changes in the seasons of life is prayer.
Prayer helps us depend on God at all times. When we have a habit of daily prayer, we learn to lean on its power in our lives. God's power and presence through prayer will teach us to trust at all times. Begin small and work your way up to many small prayers through the day. This small, yet powerful practice will carry you through the day and the seasons of life. Stay with it, don't stop, and you will begin to see the difference in your life.

Pray always...Trent
